Mustaches? Yes, please…!

I love potatoes. Everything that could be derived from a potato… soup, french fries, hash browns, baked ones, grilled, you name it. I. FREAKIN’. LOVE. POTATOES.

Aside from my family, my camera, and potatoes (well and my iphone)… a family that brings serious personality to their shoot… is my favorite-thing-in-the-whole-world-ohmigod!

This family brought it.

Not only were they totally madly in love with each other, but they were funny, easy going and so fun!

We squeezed this session in RIGHT  before they flew off to Europe. To live. (Jealous does not even begin to describe it…)

So loving these guys!

More soon.

P.S. I had to ‘google’ mustache… to make sure I spelled it right. Yeah. Did you know there is a British (moustache) and American (mustache) version? Yep. So. There. Enjoy this pearl of education on a Thursday night…

More whimsy

So back in May we were on a roll… evening sun, open fields, wildflowers, and the most photogenic families ever.

Can you just see us all holding hands singing songs from ‘The Sound of Music’ ?

Yeah. Me either.

But images like this bring out that side of me… carefree, waking up with the sun, enjoying nature…

Yep. Beautiful.

I’ll have more for you soon.

In a Field of Flowers

Let me preface the next few posts by saying… better late than never

This spring my schedule was a little hairy – to say the least – and blogging definitely fell to the wayside. Well, now FOUR months later — yes four months — I want to share a few of my favorite images with you.

I love this family on so many levels.

Amazing yes? We’ve now both moved away from the Hampton Roads area… and they are so far away…:( However, I’m so thankful for the time I was able to spend with these folks.

If you want to see a few more from this session, like my Facebook page!

More ‘better late than never’ posts soon…!

Until next time,

Hanna

Sometimes rain is the bane of my existence. Normally I’ll reschedule a photo shoot if there’s even a decent threat of rain, but Sunday was different. After some coordination I was able to schedule a special shoot while I was in the SC/NC area. Hanna is the youngest of three sisters, all of which I’ve photographed at one point or another.

So this session was special. And since we weren’t able to reschedule, we made do… even with the rain. Lots of rain. We forged on, got creative, and made the absolute best of what could have been a frustrating situation.

I am so happy with how all of these images turned out!

Here’s your sneak peek Hanna!

Check out that dark blue sky! I love the contrast!

Hanna is a lover of Tom’s Shoes. If you haven’t heard of these follow the link and check ‘em out! Not only are they cute funky shoes, but for every pair you purchase, a pair is donated to a child in need. Ladies, you need to check out the wedges. I’m getting some. Moms, check out the Tiny TOMS… too cute for words!!

Hanna and her beautiful mom. I love this. Love love love…

Until next time,

A journey…

So here we are. Back together.

Me, who hasn’t updated a blog in what seems to be centuries…

And you, faithful blog readers and facebook followers …

So, Welcome! This is my new blog – it was a bit of journey getting this thing up and running (one that involved a wayward WordPress update spawning error messages, desperate emails to technical support and me running around bleary eyed about to cry and pull my hair out), but we are here now and ** sigh ** isn’t it pretty?

I have a new look and it can all be attributed to amazing photographer and graphic designer, Annya Eyestone. I’m not really sure how she managed to read my mind and develop something that was so perfect for me, but she did. Developing a logo for someone is no easy undertaking … especially for someone you’ve never met. My responses to her detailed questionnaire were probably nothing short of hysterical and, if I dare to recall, probably involved descriptions of movie stars, what I like to eat for breakfast, soothing earth tones and other nonsense. And yet she still pulled this off.

So this is the beginning of a new journey for me and for this business. What a great way to kick things off here in Maryland than with the reveal of a gorgeous “new me”.

More (and with actual pictures) soon!
